We would like to announce the addition of our newest series of machines, the Sacma Warm Former. This is the first truly integrated Warm Former, specifically designed for forming products from a wide range of exotic materials including high strength alloys of titanium, nickel, stainless and bearing steels.
The Sacma Warm Former provides the same precision, reliability and performance of our cold formers with the addition of a single or double induction heating system with automatic heating controls to assure the material maintains the required temperature throughout the forming process. The tooling area temperatures are also automatically controlled to maintain part precision and tool life over long production runs. The Warm Former features and controls are very operator friendly making it the most productive, the most reliable and the safest Warm Former ever offered to the aerospace and special material markets.
The Sacma Warm Former provides the ability to form parts to near net and net shapes, reducing secondary and finishing cost. The unique Sacma transfer has the capability to form both long and short parts so products like bolts and nuts can be produced on the same machine without expensive transfer changes or modifications. This versatile machine will increase your forming capabilities to a much wide range of products for current and future market needs.
The Sacma Warm Former is first true Warm Former designed for the aerospace and special automotive fasteners. Others offer a modified cold former arranged with warm former features which limit the productivity, precision and reliability of the machine. The Sacma Warm Former is the most advanced machine available and will provide the part precision, production efficiencies and years of reliable operation needed to compete in today’s fastener markets.
WARM FORMING PROGRESSIVE HEADERS
SACMA has developed special machines, incorporating induction heating units in the wire feeding line. The typical temperature range of warm forming applications is between 300°C/572°F and 900°C/1652°F depending of materials. High frequency induction heating is obtained by means of special coils that can be fitted outside or
inside the main frame of the machine, between the feed rolls and the cut-off quill. There is specific cooling of the coils and of the frame and the temperature of the wire
is read by specific optical pyrometers. The WF application also provides temperature control of the die box and of the coolant liquid.
It allows the deformation of Titanium alloys (Ti3,5Al2V, Ti6Al4V), Light alloys (2000 and 7000 series), Nickel superalloys, Alloyed steel (100Cr6, Cromolly steels), Stainless steels for high temperature applications (A286, A310).
